TechnologyBrains beats old estabish marketleader

Posted on January 23, 2006. Filed under: bizz, fast, ventures, web |

The Trendslaes guys (the amazing three e-cowboys from Viborg Jylland)and Martin F. Andersen og Bo Eriksen – have done it again. First Dating, then TeenMatching and now Auction/Classified. Here are the cold facts:

194.245 Trendsales.dk
192.434 Den Blaa Avis (DBA.dk)

The funny thing is that no one knows Trendsales yet – and everyone knows DBA.dk.

I cant say how much it impresses me that -they have now surpassed the old master of classified DBA.dk 9mio$ profit company – in number of listed classifieds. And do I need to say that these guys have done again – without speding a dime. The best entrepanuers on Danish soil !!

I hope so much they will do a venture with me some day 🙂 – I?ve been pitching then since 1998.

This is why Bubble 2.0 is here – but remember some will suffer hard.

And those were the guys that the VC’s shook their heads at at First Tuesday when they pitched their Dating concept.

I wonder if it were the same VCs that turned down Skype?

Looks like a cool service that easily can translate in to other things.

(what does the numbers refer to – visit, listings or…?)

The number refers to number of listed goods.

No dubt that what Trendsales have have acheived in this short time is quite impressive

BUT… there is a reason why the numbers of online ads look like they do. Ads on dba.dk is default set to expire after 2 weeks. Trendsales use another system where the ad is active until there havent been comments for a month or something like that. That is why you will find one year old ads still online on trendsales.dk.

so..
Trendsales has 194.245 ads up to one year old.
dba.dk has 192.434 ads up to one month old.

by the way … dba.dk has just changed the default expiration from 2 weeks to 4 weeks .. so the numbers will change in a couple of weeks :0)

Rune/ from dba.dk if you hadnt figured that out ;0)

It’s almost correct. 182 ads are more than 1 year old.
